Vivo Has Entered The Order Of The World’s Top Four Smartphone Vendors

Recent Canalys data puts Vivo in fourth place for the first time in global smartphone unit shipments in Q3 2021 with a market share of 10%. Showing an increase compared to the same quarter last year, Canalys reports that Vivo has maintained its position in the top five smartphone unit shipments in the last four quarters since 2020.

Edy Kusuma, Senior Brand Director of Vivo Indonesia stated, “This achievement is also supported by Vivo’s different approach in each country, adjusting to consumer needs and the perspective they have about the product. This more local more global approach has contributed greatly to Vivo’s achievements, whose sales network now covers more than 50 countries and regions globally,” added Edy.

Vivo’s achievements in the third quarter of 2021 are also driven by growth momentum since the previous quarter. According to IDC’s report in Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker Q2 2021, Vivo reached the top five positions with a market share of 10.1% and the top three highest annual growth percentages with 33.5% compared to the same quarter last year.

IDC also reports that in the second quarter of 2021, Vivo reached the top position of the Chinese smartphone market with a market share of 23.5%. IDC added that the positive reception of the Y-series launched for the mainstream segment, as well as the X-series, S-series, and iQOO for the middle and upper class segments, contributed directly to Vivo’s achievement in the Chinese market.

From the third quarter to the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2021, Vivo has expanded its product portfolio for various consumer segments in Indonesia. In addition to introducing its latest V-series, Vivo V21, and V21 5G as 5G-Ready series, Vivo has launched the premium X-series flagship variant Vivo X70 Pro, as well as several Y-series variants with superior specifications in design, performance, and camera capabilities.

In October 2021, Vivo officially introduced the Vivo Y33s variant and started the first physical sale for the Vivo X70 Pro series. The X70 Pro variant is the second X-series launched by Vivo this year, after officially introducing the Vivo X60 Series in April.
